DST International, investment management industry announced Tuesday that DSTi’s Investment Data Solutions now supports Oracle as well as Sybase databases.
Steve Edkins, DSTi’s chief operating officer, said the market for relational databases has changed.
“The database is now treated as a commodity and the majority of our users expect the database of their choice. As we know a high proportion of our clients and prospects have standardised on the Oracle system,” Edkins said. “In response to this demand we have initiated a programme of development work to ensure that the DSTi solutions will also run under Oracle.
DSTi’s Investment Data Solutions have been the initial focus of the development work. The forthcoming release will be available for evaluation at selected client sites from August with a production release scheduled for the fourth quarter.
