Millennium Global Investments, an investment management firm based in London, has been awarded several new Currency Overlay mandates from Pension Funds and Trusts based in Europe and North America. The $1 billion of new mandates brings Millennium’s assets to $3.6 billion, an increase by three fold since 2000.

Michael Huttman, Chief Investment Officer of Millennium stated “we have seen an increase in the need for both currency hedging and active currency overlay programmes by global institutional investors who are addressing the currency impact on their portfolios on a both strategic and tactical basis.”

Millennium’s Currency team was recently reinforced with the addition of a Senior Economist, Roger Nightingale, who is regularly featured on CNBC and Lisa Scott-Smith, a leading London based foreign exchange specialist who joined from Credit Suisse.
