The Central Securities Registry Depository and Clearinghouse in Serbia has increased its charges. A new fee of 0.05% will be withheld by the CSD at the settlement of equity DVP transactions, as compensation for providing a turnover tax deduction service. The turnover tax is charged at 0.3%. “This will result in an increase in the cost of equity sales of 0.05%,” says Milovan Protic, head of custody at HVB Serbia and Montenegro.
