BNP Paribas Securities Services has appointed Luc Renard as head of securities services for Southeast Asia with immediate effect.

The move comes just a few weeks after the custodian added Jen-Thai Ewe from HSBC as head of client development in Southeast Asia.

Renard has been promoted to the role from his current position head of financial intermediaries client line and digital transformation, APAC at BNP Paribas Securities Services.

He has worked for BNP Paribas Securities Services for 20 years, of which the past 12 years have been in Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong in a variety of regional clearing, custody and digital transformation roles.

In the new role Renard will report to Franck Dubois hierarchically and functionally to Joris Dierckx, regional head for Southeast Asia.

Renard graduated with a Master of Business Administration specialising in Asset Management from the PSB Paris School of Business. He also has a Masters degree in Market Finance from the University of Paris-Sorbonne.

“I’m delighted to announce Luc’s appointment at the helm of our Southeast Asia commercial and operational hub,” said Dubois.

It’s a fast-growing business, serving local and international clients in a region alive with financial technology innovation. Under Luc’s leadership, we look forward to continuing to invest and grow in this exciting region.”
