BNY Mellon has appointed Frances Barney as its global head of risk solutions.

Barney will take over the role from Deb Baker who retired at the end of 2016.

Previously head of risk solutions for the Americas region, Barney will now take overall charge of risk solutions.

Barney initially joined BNY Mellon in 2006 following a 15-year period at State Street Corporation where she oversaw the delivery of performance analytics for its US custody clients and managed the US performance outsourcing service for investment managers and consultants.

Prior to this, Barney was also head of performance analytics at Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas.

The move is the latest appointment for BNY Mellon following a string of additions to its sales team in December.

Joyce Dardonis and Todd Kroner both joined BNY Mellon’s corporate government and not for profit (CGNP) sales team from State Street as a senior sales executive and sales executive respectively.

Mark Carnevale also joined BNY Mellon’s asset owner sales team from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was global treasury sales officer.
