Computershare has acquired a controlling interest in Russia’s largest independent registrar, The National Registry Company (NRC).
Computershare has been a NRC shareholder since 2003, and the NRC is the only Russian registrar to use its services. NRC provides cross-border agreement with UK markets and the Russian stock exchange. The company has also taken a stake in Russia’s Registrar NIKoil, the largest mutual fund transfer agent and third largest registrar in Russia. “Computershare provides an unparalleled global service for its clients – we are the only company able to offer comprehensive, local registry services on all 5 continents and to have on the ground representation across 20 countries,” says Chris Morris, Computershare’s CEO. “We firmly believe that Russia will play a key part in our portfolio going forward.’ The company intends to develop a standard technology platform to enable cross-border connectivity in the Russian domestic market, and build stronger relationships with Russian clients, according to a press release.
