Fixnetix, the provider of ultra-low latency co-location hosting, market data and trading infrastructure connectivity services, has strengthened its networking infrastructure, trading, market data, customer support and business development teams with the appointment of 13 new employees who have all joined the company during the last quarter.

Fixnetix’s major recruitment programme follows a year of record expansion for the company, which is now the fastest growing provider of low latency market data, exchange co-location and trading infrastructure with connectivity to all the major financial institutions such as investment banks and hedge funds. Fixnetix has grown considerably in size since the start of 2009. The company recently moved to prestigious new offices at 33 Grosvenor Square in London SW1, where there is room for the company to develop as it expands into new markets and broadens its service offering to support additional asset classes.

“At Fixnetix we’re determined to support our customers with the highest calibre staff: we only employ specialist staff from our industry. We believe we’re building the market’s best operational team, with staff coming from the major banks as well as leading prime brokers and hedge funds,” says Hugh Hughes, Fixnetix’s chief executive officer. “We’re delighted to welcome our 13 new starters, who have joined from a range of organisations including Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank, RBS, Commerzbank, Thomson Reuters, Instinet, Charles River, J.P. Morgan and Verizon. Collectively they will be working to support our expanding client base of customers, including prime brokers, hedge funds, MTFs and spread betting companies.”

“Fixnetix now operates some 18 co-location and proximity hosting centres across Europe and the US to support trading across all the major cash, futures, FX and bond markets. The company also offers data and trading access to over 45 markets. That’s why we’re investing in our service desk capability, developing our comprehensive networking offering, and growing our business development team to make sure we continue to provide our customers with the highest levels of support.”

Employees joining the company include Richard Reed from Verizon, who has been appointed as Head of Network and Co-location Strategy; Owen Chuck and Gareth Richardson in Sales and Business Development; Mehdi Ramouni and Mark Harrington in Market Data Engineering; Michael O’Shea and Wayne Xiao in Network Engineering; John Staples and John Williams in Trading Systems, and Helen Gilbert and Leah Morton in the Service Desk team. Additional appointments include Russell Stephen as Service Delivery Manager, and Gavin Kennedy in Data Centre Engineering. All these new positions will supplement Fixnetix’s existing teams, and help ensure that our customers have access to the optimum mix of co-location, trading and market data venues to meet their specific trading and data strategies.
