Fund administrator Centaur has appointed Des Johnson as CEO of its USA division, Centaur Fund Services USA.
Johnson was formerly managing director and global co-head of investor services at SS&C.
“I’m delighted to lead Centaur USA and am committed to accelerating our US momentum,” said Johnson.
“The growth prospects for our business in North America are extremely exciting as clients really appreciate Centaur’s “client first” approach.”
Prior to his role at SS&C, Johnson spent nearly 12 years with Citigroup in a variety of roles in both its hedge funds and securities and funds services divisions.
He also had a spell with International Fund Services in the early noughties.
Johnson took up his role with Centaur in April and is based in New York.
“Centaur has a strong group of hedge fund, private equity and family office clients in the US and we see tremendous opportunities for further growth,” says Eric Bertrand, founding partner of Centaur Fund Services.
“We launched our Bermuda office in 2016 and this has become an important servicing centre for us. Des is a key hire and we expect to build significantly in North America in the coming years.”
