Global Custodian announces Industry Leaders awards winners 2020

Global Custodian is delighted to reveal the winners of its Industry Leaders awards 2020, as announced during the premiere of its Fund Services 2020 documentary.

The awards night traditionally held in New York transitioned to a virtual production, highlighting the story of funds and their service providers through the height of the pandemic-driven market crisis in March and April, along with long-terms trends and an overview of recent changes in models and relationships.

Among the big winners from the event were Apex Group, Citco, SS&C, Trident Trust and Ultimus Fund Solutions. There were also multiple accolades handed to BNP Paribas, JP Morgan and Maples Fund Services.

Those receiving their first Global Custodian’s awards included Sanne and StoneX – who beat out tough competition in the One to Watch categories – and TD Prime Services, while projects from BNY Mellon & EZOPS, and Societe Generale & Nuvo Prime were also recognised.

Elsewhere Arcesium picked up the Alternatives FinTech of the Year following a stellar 12 months, while there were honours for Cowen, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Nomura, Northern Trust and Wells Fargo.

For the individual awards, Jonathan Cossey, global head of prime finance at JP Morgan was the latest inductee into Global Custodian’s Hall of Fame through the legend award. Meanwhile the coveted Lifetime Achievement award went to Ultimus co-founder Bob Dorsey. 

“In a year where funds leant on their service providers more than ever before, Global Custodian is pleased to honour the most outstanding performers from our surveys, along with other standout organisations in our Editors’ Choice awards,” said Jonathan Watkins, managing editor, Global Custodian.
