Based on today’s announcement of the Hungarian Central Depository and Clearing House (KELER), the registration process (client identification) has been updated.
In case of registering private individuals for corporate action, an additional data, citizenship of the investor, should also be delivered to KELER by the Hungarian custodians/brokers: The international ISO code of the country of the registered private individual should be included.
It is expected, however, that the tax modification what will be discussed in the Parliament in the coming days would waive the above obligation. As long as it is not approved, the additional citizenship data will be required and KELER says it is prepared to accept and handle with the currently announced system update.
