Robert Goodman has been named global head of Private Equity and RealAssets for Sterling Stamos Capital Management.

He is responsible for the management, fundraising, operating, and investment activities for the firm’s Private Equity and Real Assets platform. The announcement was made today by Peter Stamos, chairman and CEO of Sterling Stamos.

“I have known Robert Goodman for over two decades, going back to our days together at McKinsey. He brings a tremendous level of credibility to our Private Equity and Real Assets platform and is someone for whom I have the highest professional respect and personal regard,” says Stamos.

Prior to joining Sterling Stamos, Goodman was vice chairman andmember of the Global Operating Committee of Deutsche Asset Management. He has had a distinguished career at leading investment banking and private equity firms including N. M. Rothschild & Sons, where he was global head of Insurance Investment Banking, and Lazard Freres, where he held a similar position.

He has also been executive director of Financial Institutions Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs, and had been a principal and co-head of the European Insurance Group at McKinsey & Company.

Goodman graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College with a BAdegree. He received an MA from Harvard University and a JD from Harvard Law School, where he was an editor of the Harvard Law Review. He is married with two children.
