Securities services advisory group announces new South African member

TSSAG was formed in August 2020 by a number of Global Custodian Hall of Famers and distinguished securities services industry experts.

The Securities Services Advisory Group (TSSAG), formed by a group of industry veterans last summer, has announced the addition of South African management consulting company Solve Business Consulting as its newest member. 

Solve is a boutique management consulting company based in South Africa, with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg.  

Since 1997, Solve has serviced the local financial services industry, focusing on investment managers, investment and retirement fund administrators, wealth managers, insurance companies and banking treasury.  

“We look forward to collaborating with them given their long and successful track record in large operational and strategic initiatives for financial services firms in South Africa and across the continent,” said Mark Kerns, chairman of TSSAG. 

Our collective clients have ever increasing access to a broad range of industry, subject and geographical experts around the globe.” 

Among TSSAG’s founders are The Value Exchange – headed up by Standard Chartered alumni Barnaby Nelson and Soterium – run by ex-RBC executive Jim Harris and the former head of operations at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Sudha Datta.  

Also involved is the well-known securities services recruitment outfit HornbyChapman, while the CEO of the group is Viraj Kulkarni, founder of Pivot Consulting.  

TSSAG says its members have a wide and diverse scope of intellectual and practical skills, covering investor, issuer, fund and capital market infrastructure services, in addition to recruitment, analytics and benchmarking.
