The tool from HSBC will allow asset managers to assess the effectiveness of hedging strategies and will be integrated with the bank’s single dealer platform later this year.  

The changes follows a decision by the bank to centralise all of its custody and fund services activities under one combined unit.

Overall securities services revenues dropped only marginally in 2020 compared with 2019, with fund services sector even producing record returns.

The milestone follows a period of increased investment by the US bank into its securities services business over the past few years.
